NIDAC national logo competition winner and finalists

NIDAC is pleased to announce the award for best NIDAC logo design was presented to Mr Toby Dodd of Dreamtime Public Relations at a gala ceremony (2008 National Drug and Alcohol Awards) held at the Plaza Ballroom attended by more than 1,000 dignitaries from around Australia. Mr Toby Dodd was presented with a prize of $5,000 from the competition which was kindly sponsored by the Alcohol Education and Rehabilitation Foundation (AERF).

Toby, of Ngarrindjeri/Narungga/Kaurna descent has been employed by Dreamtime Public Relations — a company which provides professional development opportunities to Indigenous people. Since he was 17, Toby has worked for Dreamtime Public Relations gaining various qualifications and experience in graphic design, pre-press, multi-media and website development. Winning a national award at the age of 22 is testament to Toby’s dedication and talent. Managing Director — Dreamtime Public Relations, Janet Craig, said she is ecstatic with the win. “Dreamtime was established 5 years ago to provide opportunities to Indigenous people. This award is proof that we are fulfilling our objectives.

The design was judged the best from a field of over 100 entrants and 170 logos. The two runner-ups were SA Indigenous designer, Karen Briggs, and Tony Laplanche from Brisbane. NIDAC congratulates the Winner and Finalists and thanks all of the participants for entering the competition
